Buddy Holly & The Crickets

Chairman of The BME Trust, Harvey Goldsmith CBE appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning with some very special new additions to The BME collection. Harvey shared two items forming part of a new Buddy Holly and The Crickets collection, these were the original pressing of 'That'll Be The Day' along with a letter from Buddy Holly himself requesting a gig at a school in Lubbock, Texas. The BME collection celebrates the history of British music and with Buddy Holly's influence being so significant on a number of key British bands, we are delighted to share these specially selected artefacts, most of them never displayed before in a British collection. These include Buddy’s famous ‘London Fog’ jacket and his Lifetime Achievement Grammy award – there are also original programmes from Buddy Holly and The Crickets 1958 UK tour, including ticket stubs from Bradford Gaumont Theatre.

Tickets are available now, ahead of our opening on 9th March at The Cunard Building on Liverpool's famous waterfront.
